Current offshore trips are yielding strong results for Hogfish and Grouper. We are finding the most success in depths ranging from 80 to 120 feet. The transition from spring to summer has brought larger predators closer to the primary ledges.

Hogfish: These remain a staple for our spearfishing clients. We are seeing healthy numbers on the limestone relief and smaller rock piles.

Grouper: Red Grouper activity is high on the deeper hard bottom. We recommend focused bottom hunting for those looking to fill the cooler.

Snapper: While season-dependent, we are tracking significant numbers of Mangrove Snapper moving onto the offshore wrecks.

The 35ft Cobia has been instrumental in navigating the afternoon sea breezes common this time of year. The triple Yamaha 300s continue to allow us to reach the Middle Grounds quickly, maximizing your time in the water.

Our trips are currently departing from Pete’s Pier between 4:00 AM and 5:00 AM to take advantage of the calmest morning conditions and the early bite.

For those staying closer to the coast, the Crystal River area remains a hub of activity. While we are preparing for the upcoming scalloping season in July, the nearshore reefs are currently providing excellent training grounds for those enrolled in our SDI Scuba Certification classes.
